(I did not draw any tags, but I did go hunting with family in 2014)
I picked up my birthday present. It is a Tikka T3 Lite chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum. I added a Vortex Diamondback 4-12×40 scope with a Dead-Hold BDC reticle. I needed a good hunting rifle that would work for elk, mountain goats, and deer. I am very happy.
Our daughter is two and half years old. She is getting really good at talking and she knows numbers, color, and the alphabet fairly well. She is also starting to enjoy shooting her kid bow with her daddy. She understands how to nock the arrow and pull the string. We will work on aiming when she gets a little older.
I am very unhappy right now. I spent a lot of money applying for hunts and I struck out in Utah and Nevada. The table below is my list of unsuccessful applications in Nevada.
I did not draw any tags this year. However, one of my older brothers shot a spike elk, my nephew shot his first deer during the muzzleloader hunt on the Zion unit in Utah, and my sister-in-law shot a nice buck during the rifle hunt on the Zion unit.
On October 26th, my little brother shot this buck on the last day of the season.
These are a few pictures I took in southern Utah on the Zion general season hunting unit in Utah on Thanksgiving. I usually see more bucks, and bigger bucks, at this location.
